For me, the decision of taking a Digital Arts class as an elective class during my Business school years was what changed my life and what inspired me to pursue graphic design as a career. Most of the elective classes that I took were mostly Business related and so when I got the opportunity to do something different, I thought that maybe I should try doing art again. This class taught me how to do basic Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, something I was never good at and felt too intimidated to use. After learning the basics, I realized how much fun I had as well as how creative I could be, so I tried using these skills in my Business classes. I got to do some logo designs and posters for some projects in my other classes and I would get compliments for my creativity. But when I felt that I lost my passion in pursuing my Business degree, I wanted to take the skills I learned in Digital Arts and maybe try enrolling for the Graphics Design program at Seattle Central College. I’d say this was the best decision I’ve ever done.
