I have always loved art and creating things. As I grew up, I became obsessed with certain aspects of art that caught my attention. At one point, I was really into pen and ink art. I developed my own unique style, sold stickers on Etsy, and collaborated with RAW artists. My interest shifted to photography after years of neglecting my camera. It became my new passion, but something was different this time; I knew it was what I wanted to pursue seriously.
Attending this program has been an eye-opening experience. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I am thriving and genuinely love learning about photography and all its intricacies. Finding my style took work, but I have figured out what I want my photography to look like. By combining my love for drawing, art, colors, and aesthetics, I have been able to incorporate these elements into my photos.
One of the ways my perspective has shifted in the past few months is realizing that there is so much more to lighting, video, and photography than I ever could have imagined. It has been a lot of new information, but I have been applying everything I’ve learned and embracing the challenge. This program has been beneficial in helping me focus on one skill and refine it, which has been a personal challenge for me due to my ADHD. I have had many creative endeavors and business ideas, but now I can immerse myself in photography and develop my skills.
What sets my vision apart is the combination of my diverse artistic interests and desire to create a bright and warm new perspective on vintage visuals by mixing the aesthetics of the 60s and 70s with a modern touch, bringing a unique look to my work. This fusion of different eras and styles allows me to create images that evoke a sense of nostalgia while also feeling fresh and contemporary.
