Scene: your working over time at your design job. Your lagging hard, you need a energy boost. you crack open a Ghost energy drink. you take a big gulp. ahh, that hit the spot, you power through your newest design. the client loves it. all thanks to Ghost.

Popeyes –

What worked – I had a actor I find very funny. I found the skits of him being amazed by the current world pretty funny.

What to do better – more screen time spent on the different chickens. It would have been better him not spewing chicken while being in a massage chair. it was a bit gross.

Doritos

What worked – I love older women doing martial arts. It was really funny having a chase seen with them on scooters.

what to do better – more old ladies fighting. more explosions.

A piece that I have created in my design class, is my redesign of the book cover for Psycho in a Ukiyo-e style.

It’s one of the first pieces that someone other than my friends when I showed it got excited. With this project, we were tasked to redesign a book or album of our choice in the style we were assigned for out last assignment. I chose Psycho, as its a very good book, along with a great movie. I knew in Japanese myth that Red Spider Lily’s were used in funerals and anime if they are shown it means someone was going to die. which tied into some of the characters in Psycho’s fates. My teacher Gabriel was worried at first when I showed him initial sketches but after explaining the premise he got very excited. Which in turn was pleasing to me, as this was one of our first solo projects in design. It helped kinda solidify that yes, I was learning design and I seemed to be good at it.

With this game, you play a boy named Link, who lives in a forest and has never left. he is then tasked with seeing the guardian of the forest, the great Deku tree. when he arrives after acquiring a sword and shield, he is told he is not really a forest child, and can leave while children of the forest will die if they leave. He then is told the Deku tree is cursed and he must defeat the evil inside. link does but its to late and Deku dies, but informs link to go to hyrule and find princess zelda to stop the evil from spreading. in this game we follow link as he fights his way to try the evil Ganondorf, this adventure is a third person fighting game, that traverse across, mountains, lakes and time. It is considered a classic, and it was huge huge part of my childhood. I have relayed this enough time to know exactly where to go and what to do, but it still does not disappoint in a beautiful story and fun game play.

next i put in slightly less specific just cat playing Frisbee.

and lastly I tried as basic as possible. cat with Frisbee.

I do not like AI art programs. I feel like they are just stealing actual art from people. I understand to a point, however the copyright issues of a lot of pictures is concerning, and having people who spend tons of time and some times years honing their art only to have it dumped into a computer and churned out for someone to make shit with. I see almost no pros of using it outside of using it for back rounds to a extent.

For the blog post this week we were asked to pick something in our career path that we would like to have. I feel like I have most things I would need. I have a tablet along with the necessary computer and programs. However through some googling, I’ve found something intersting.

for out blog assignment, we were assigned to pick a country we would like to work in. I chose Toronto, Canada. at a toy company.

I feel like it would be a lot of fun designing for a toy company. You can use a lot of fun colors and designs. As for living in Toronto, i know that Toronto is a safe place to be. which would be a good for living alone. Along with canada having a great healthcare for citizens. which is alway a plus.
