I would say is when I had to take portraits for my digital imaging class. I needed some images to photoshop. I decided to take picture of a past coworker. I was a bit distracted with string up the lights and seamless for her photoshoot. I didn’t check that my camera had very low battery once I started shooting the flashing red light started to go off. So I left it charging and asked my classmate for an extra battery. I didn’t get on right away. But I decided to ask my coworker kind of what she wanted to go for. Once I finally got a charged battery we would be able to knock out the poses quickly. Finally we got through it and I took the images. Also in general I have poor eyesight and getting focus has been my main goal in my Lighting class. I find very hard to see how sharp my images are on the little screen of a cannon. So once I learned how to tether in studio. I constantly use it. It has helped me improve so much. Before hand I was just looking at the small screen. But now I am able to use live feed and adjust my focus as I go along. Then I can zoom up on the image. Overall I learned that I just need to be more prepared. I think scheduling is also a big part of things you can’t plan for. But I always double check and try to have a back up. I know as creatives or in general we can’t always plan for things but we can try. Now I make sure thing are fully charged or have batteries regardless of what equipment I’m using the day before. Then when using a model I double check schedules and have them know they can’t make it to let me know as soon as possible. But also send kind reminders to make sure they are still willing. But knowing I have a back up date for a shoot. Making sure I can switch my shoot days if something comes up.
