So for this first AR project I had to make a poster with eye jack , I drew this in procrate and I thought be cute to make it blink I’ve never done a gif so this was fun , I had an issue where the cat was blinking really fast ,so I had to add more frames that fixed it so this was a fun project to do!

HARD SKILLS VS SOFT SKILLS

1. HARD SKILL-Spanish,photoshop,drawing ,SOFT SKILL- time management, taking responsibility,creativity

2.The reasons why I think that these are my hard/soft skill , I speak Spanish and that’s how I got my jobs up to now is because a lot of Spanish speakers always would call or come in asking for a Spanish speaker to help them with question and plenty of customer will tell me they one come that location because me, especially at a clinic location or when the community has a big latino demographic. Photoshop is a hard skill for me because I’ve used it since I was 13 yrs old and now I’m 27 I’m very confident to say that I know how to use it and can use for many things. and when I say artist I mean like I can draw illustrations like comics and also animals in a painty style I’ve included this in my project for jills class for a hot sauce bottle. my time management is a soft skill that I think i have but when it comes to small things I put those last on my list to prioritize the more important things. taking responsibility is a huge deal for me and I expect those around me to do the same with their tasks or work ,if I’m lacking or know that I’m not good at something I would acknowledge it and try to work on it cause I can’t runaway from my problems, creativity in my past jobs I would be the one that would always come to mind when something with Creativity was involved like making signs to making doodles on medication bags for pets after a surgery I also did a mural for my high school.

3. photoshop, drawing – time management, creativity

most of these are my creative skills that I wanna build up more , especially time management is something I need to work on as the year goes by but it seems to be going well for now

4. time management for school, I would benefit more with all the School work I have something to keep me on my toes and not slack off, when comes to my personal life that disappears which affects my School work. time management would help when I get a job or if I decide if I want to freelance after School

The importance of a personal project, a personal project that I’ve think of doing while attending Creative Academy is making opening an Etsy shop or something like that of like canary or personal art and it can include stickers,posters,stationery maybe shirts, its something of been thinking of doing doing for awhile

1.so the project is me selling my art from the things that I would like to see more, I hope to gain money lol but see if People would actually like my stuff, and live off that somehow

2.so I can start writing down I would start with so I would probably Start with sticker and outsource them to save the time and sanity if I do them myself, drawing the pieces would take 3 weeks

3.supplies that I need are just my iPad photoshop or use procrate and print them out to see if the colors are correct

4.for the price for this would be like 200 depending on the min requirement of each design and then the shipping is around 10 and the supplies for envelopes and shipping the stickers to customer probably 3 dollars.

So for the first week of class I had an a project that was about making a shapes based off a pattern we drew on a tiny piece of paper and we had to make a image out it, we scanned them and and made the size bigger or smaller so we can play around with shapes to form a image using the gestalt principles for design. as I was doing my work i made an interesting shape and glued them to a piece paper . but I put it my bag with my drink it got destroyed from the water and the whole thing got crumpled and torn ,wet so I tossed it when got home .but I found out that we needed to save it and bring it into class , I sent a message to my teacher Jill what happened and she said it was okay as long I had a picture I can use that. Luckily I did and good thing I took a picture when I finished it, we ended up using photoshop for that assignment to so it worked out for me.but if didn’t have a picture I know I would’ve probably had to start over not that I wouldn’t mind. you can actually see this work on this blog its the first post that I did if your curious about it and how it ended up looking it was a very interesting what my shape looked.
what I basically learned from that experience is to be more organized with school work its been years since I graduated high school, and I had the habit of just shoving paper into my backpack and I learned my lesson after this. so what I did was I bought a folder to hold all my paperwork especially since it was the first week of school I was given a lot of paper, I now double check the instructions for all my projects and assignments, and bought a planner and carried less stuff with me and not carry a drink in my bag 😅.

So for this Illustration I used a program called procrate its not exactly my favorite program I use it cause its extremely easy to use and transfer my drawings and its on the iPad, but its one of my favorites hahaha, I do love brushes that are mimic real life textured paints and this is limited so I work with the ones that come with the program I used the oil brush for the bubble tea, Thai tea has very pretty effect of the milk when they make it fresh. the brush did a good job mixing but I can’t control as much as I would but I still love the results.and for the ice cream pup a hard round brush nothing fancy.

Why I choose to draw to these foods , I LOVE Thai tea its Aesthetically pleasing and delicious I would get one everyday after work , and the ice cream pup is coffee flavored with chocolate bits and the ear are waffle bits topped with a cherry, coffee is one my favorite things in the World d so anything flavored with it is automatically yum.

1.EARN TRUST, in any job there’s a sense of earning someones trust especially the customer, as I worked with animals that very IMPORTANT these animals are these people whole life they are part of family so it makes sense that you want to trust the people that are looking after them even for a minute or long periods of time, especially in the vet you want to make sure that the pet is comfortable same with the owner you talk to both of them explain the treatment, as some pets come for more recent visits we would notice that these animals would calm down they trusted us and that shows the owners that we care and understand its not easy for your pet to be taken away for you for a second, we would treat any animal as our own, we know we the customer trusted us when they buy us pizza coffee and more lol.

2.OWNERSHIP, I’m going to mention my job from my last job from the vet, when you are fired there is an expectation of taking ownership of your duties!!! failing at one task will take the team down and slow down to ,don’t expect to wait for someone to do it , the hospital has a very busy scene don’t put nothing of, as vet assistant I had to make sure to help quick and clean up and sanitize ,no matter what is .itchy crusty dog hold him. dog with Parvo help him and follow code, surgeries make sure everything is there!we had a student that didn’t do any of that she didn’t want to hold certain animals just puppies and kittens , did not clean anything cause she was didn’t want to ruin her scrubs, I pulled aside and told her duites and this job functions, she didn’t say anything, it was a matter of time that the doctors noticed and the owner fired her a week later. take ownership into what your getting into. or else you’ll fail everyone and yourself.

3.CUSTOMER OBSESSION. I never knew why business obsessive over customers, to the point where they don’t care and end up neglect their employees, and would fire them for disagreeing, I would stand up for my coworkers before the customer. if they customer is making the situation a big deal and being rude I don’t help, but if they are not I would do anything to help, spoiling rude customer will never help other workers who have to deal with that.

This new post is going to be about when I said yes to a opportunity, and the thing that came to mind was I was 22 my friend from work was going to leave to work at animal clinic , she worked with my for 2 years and needed a job that offered more opportunities to work with animals , as the weeks went by she sent me a text message that someone at her job was fired and said if I wanted to work there, and of course I said yes that was one of my childhood dreams everyone expected me to work with animals and now I had the chance to make that come true, but this was a new career path and I was worried that I didn’t have any experience in a vet hospital but I did work at a doggy daycare , I would be helping with animals that were sick and needed blood drawn and vaccines, but my boss made sure that we would be trained and checked up on us , me and my friend always made sure that our boarders would be comfortable and felt safe as I’m sure they worried why they where left at the vet, but they knew and me my friend where there to take care of them, as covid hit the boarding section of the clinic shut down and we were moved to the treatment room , that’s when I got to learn more medical stuff like lab work and blood draws and vaccinations, X-rays helping with surgeries, the one thing I wasn’t ready was pet euthanasia, the sad part the fun died when the clinic cat died all of sudden as her caretaker that hit me, my excitement died after that then covid made a pet boom which meant booked appointments overworked staff and burn out . which made me leave , it wasn’t for me in the end , I’m thankful for the opportunity forsure and the memories ,but the hectic work life meant no time for creativity and that made me sad I haven’t done anything creative through out those years working, so I left and went back to school and I can’t wait to see what opportunities I can say yes to ✨
