Blog assignment 3

Hi everyone, my name is Dang. Today I am going to tell you a story about one time I stepped out of my comfort zone. At the age of 14, my academic achievement is great, I always push myself further to impress my parents with it. Everything changed when I moved to high school. I got bullied badly by a group of boys. Just because of my height, they take it as a reason to beat me up, every day. For me, it was so embarrassing, too much that I have no one to talk to. I lost my confidence to go to school, in the tough times, all I did was distract myself away from it, by playing video games. At first, things were fine, but then, I got addicted to it. Every time I finish school, I dive deep into video-game to reduce the stress I get from school. Day by day, week by week, it becomes a habit that I need video-game to feel good throughout the rest of my day. I began to ignore everything else that was happening in my life, all the events, and, even my health. After a year, I felt down on myself, on everything, I feel like I’m not myself anymore. It’s like an addiction to drugs and leaving it is just as tough. My parents were incredibly upset and disappointed, especially my dad. At that point, I just want to give up. But then, I figured out a solution by learning guitar. I had no interest in learning to play guitar before, I have my own one but never touch it. Then one day I met a guy who plays guitar very well. I’m a fan of all the beautiful songs he played on the guitar. That was so cool, an image of a person playing guitar was never this cool in my mind. At that time, I realized that playing guitar can build back my confidence as well as my image in my classmates’ eyes. I was not sure that it would work but turns out, I’m the only one who can play guitar in the class, which made my classmates be friendlier to me. I was grateful and happy at the same time. I have made a lot of new friends, including the guys who treated me badly. They did apologize, but at that point, it does not matter to me anymore.
