AR APP – UI/UX Review

Today I’ll be drinking with Warby Parker.

Warby Parker’s website exudes a welcoming and friendly design. Its user interface is both intuitive and enjoyable to navigate, providing a sense of personalized interaction through the digital interface. The website instills confidence and trust, thanks to its clean layout, devoid of unnecessary text or cluttered images. Direct-to-consumer eyewear brand, consistently offers inventive and user-friendly tools to cater to diverse shopping preferences. Whether customers prefer in-person shopping experiences or opt for the convenience of an at-home try-on service, Warby Parker ensures a seamless and adaptable eyewear shopping journey.

PROS

As I turned my head, the glasses seamlessly adapted to the movement, staying in sync with my facial expressions. While the virtual pair didn’t align perfectly with my face, especially where it intersected with my nose, it provided an excellent preview of how the glasses would appear from various angles. The virtual eyewear was a striking resemblance to its physical counterpart. When I shared images with my wife, they struggled to distinguish between the two pairs at first. Upon careful examination.

CONS

Only a few pairs of glasses virtual didn’t align perfectly with my face, especially where it intersected with my nose, it did provided an excellent preview of how the glasses would appear from various angles. I observed a slight discrepancy with certain pairs of glasses, some of the colored framed glasses looked fake or plastic. Also frustrating and confusing to locate mens glasses vs womens glasses on the Native App compared to the mobile app it was the first thing I saw.
One thing I’d suggest for improvement in the experience is the size and spacing of the color options. Making the color choices a bit larger and adding more space between them would make tapping easier, especially for users with larger hands. The same goes for the heart/favorite function. I like being able to see the arm detail of the glasses, though it breaks a bit if you turn your head too far—it doesn’t bother me much.

Warby Parker’s Website Tools Add Efficiency And Fun To The User Experience

I believe Warby Parker did a great job with this feature. Given the time they spent developing and testing it, I expected nothing less. The experience is enjoyable and exactly what I want from an online retailer like them.

New Media II / Blog Assignment Week 1

Understanding AI and its Current Limitations

I just went to the dentist for a cleaning last month and like everyone else in their late 30’s (pushing 40) I took a selfie with the sunglasses on and sent it to my wife. Fast forward to last Friday, I’m told I need an image to prompt AI to generate a Rave at the Dentist’s Office. No Problem!

First, we look at David during break having his teeth cleaned.

Prompt #1

I used my selfie above with the prompt “Doing whippets at the Dentist”

I received an overwhelming sense of gratification with this outcome! I was very surprised to see a breed of dog called a Whippet sitting in the dentist’s chair.

Further Dog Information https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/whippet/

Prompt #2

Inside the dentist’s office that go see, they have some tiger art on the wall…. So I asked AI to use this tiger image below and asked AI to “LSD all night at the dentist’s office” It generated the most realistic nightmare I have ever seen.

Prompt #3 WINNER

AI and I had a RAvE aT thE DenTiSt!

For this prompted I revisited the selfie files because I felt it would give me the best outcome, I choose one of myself smiling (I look a biological phenomenon.) I kept the written prompt direct and simple with keywords I felt it would understand. “Having a party with illegal drugs at the dentist office.” The out come above was my vision, a colorful “trip” in a dentist chair”. I’ve never been to a rave and I keep saying one thing but picturing Hunter S. Thompson roaming the desert.

FOR FUN….

AR MODULE WEEK 1

POSTER PROJECT

The Official Title/Theme for the 2024 Pet Movement of America
Cannoli don’t give AF!
He is still alive despite what this poster looks like.
JUST GIF ME A BONE!

MY CREATIVE DRIVE and WE ALL PRETEND TO TALK FOR OUR PETS.

I wanted to walk before I could run, and not get overwhelmed by the AR. My Golden Labradoodle named Cannoli looked at me during dinner and I replied, “Can you please sit”. He sat because he wanted a treat, and then I did a voice, I said “Do you want more steak” I sounded like an 85-year-old man with the mush mouth. Then I yelled, “THE POSTER!” I owe Cannoli credit and breakfast for this one. I thought it would be fun to do a “PSA” about doing something nice for your pet without getting something in return.

PROBLEM-SOLVING SOME TECHNOLOGY

I had to identify the issue I was facing and asked myself if is it a misunderstanding of a tool, or a creative challenge. I had to utilize online resources like official Adobe Photoshop tutorials and documentation, and I watched them over and over and over. They covered a wide range of topics and provided step-by-step guidance as well as YouTube channels (Lots of pausing). This information was given to me by the instructor, so all I had to do was put in the work. Photoshop is a versatile tool, and sometimes creative problem-solving involves experimentation. I had to take different approaches, tools, or techniques that were new and old to me. It was a great experience and in the end and I am happy with my results for my first time Giffing with my pet.

ADOBE PREMIERE / PHOTOSHOP and THIS GUY from YouTube

Creating a GIF, I Compiled images sown together from parts all over the internet with photos of my dog Cannoli. Using Adobe Photoshop create layers and stack them in a “timeline” and they will loop forever 🙂
I borrowed the song from this guy. The song has 6 likes.

Spyder X2 Elite

$269.99 + tax….  super cheap, so buy two!

I want to understand how this process works!

Both Visual Media and Graphic Design students can benefit from this!!! We have 2 in the cage but both are so outdated and they don’t work anymore. They came OG CD software disk, and the software was discontinued by the distributors.

How it works

Display calibration optimizes your monitor’s color performance and accuracy for your workflow (photography, videography, etc.). This quick and easy process measures, evaluates and corrects your monitor display for an accurate view into your digital world.

Spyder monitor calibrators create an ICC display profile that is used by the video card and color managed software in your computer’s operating system. A calibrated display enables your computer to show a true color representation of your image file within your editing software so you can make accurate editing decision to create the look you want.

Color calibration tool for monitors. Perfect for photo/video/hybrid work/digital design/content creation for novices and pros alike.

  • Remastered software provides a cleaner more concise user interface (UI) experience.
  • New hardware with native USB-C connection. Also includes USB-A adaptor for added convenience.
  • Ideal for photography and hybrid photo/video work.
  • X2 Elite’s features allow for a range of skill levels/needs – from expert-recommended calibration presets to more advanced, customized color control.
  • For users wanting more advanced calibration features, X2 Elite includes Video & Cinema Targets (Rec. 709, Rec. 2020); Advanced Display Mapping & Analysis; Unlimited Calibration Settings; Soft Proofing; Studio Match for multiple monitor calibration.
  • Expanded, adaptable sensor capabilities allow for seamless, affordable upgrade to Spyder X2 Ultra software if HDR/High-brightness monitor calibration is needed.

“your own thing”

My distinctive approach to photography is a fusion of my artistic flair, personal experiences, and the way I perceive the morden world. .

One key element that sets my vision apart is my keen eye for capturing emotion and storytelling within my photographs. Whether it’s a candid moment or a meticulously composed shot, my work exudes a sense of narrative that draws viewers into the scene. This storytelling aspect is deeply rooted in my unique perspective on life, influenced by my past experiences, relationships, and the diverse tapestry of foods around the world.

Moreover, my technical skills contribute to the uniqueness of my work. My understanding of light, and composition. This proficiency is a result of my dedicated journey in honing my craft, experimenting with different styles, and pushing the boundaries of traditional photography norms.

As a chef turned photographer, my background brings an unconventional yet enriching dimension to my work. The discipline and precision ingrained in my culinary experiences translate seamlessly into my photographic process. I approach each photoshoot with the same attention to detail and commitment to excellence that characterized my time in the kitchen. This cross-disciplinary influence infuses my photography with a distinct flavor, making my visual storytelling a unique blend of artistry and culinary precision.

In essence, my one-of-a-kind vision in photography is a testament to the amalgamation of my artistic sensibilities, life experiences, and the unconventional path I’ve taken. It’s a celebration of the past year’s growth and a promising preview of the artistic heights I’ll continue to reach.
