FREEDOM TO EXPRESS. FREEDOM TO EXPLORE. FREEDOM FROM EXPECTATION.

Freedom To Express: Expression through photography. Photography allows me to bring any of my ideas to life. It’s my primary means of self-expression.

Freedom To Explore: Videography is an entirely new form of art for me. Every time I try to create an interesting video, I always feel a surge of new knowledge.

Freedom From Expectation: I adore fashion. What fascinates me most about fashion is that everyone has a different perspective on it. Everyone has their own unique style and taste. You might expect someone to like your style, and you to like theirs.

ASSIGNMENT #5 “FOOD TRUCK”

“Paradise Village” Ukrainian Cuisine

The restaurant of Ukrainian cuisine “Paradise Village” became my choice for this assignment. My heart aches with nostalgia for the dishes I ate while living in Ukraine, and it turns out it’s not so easy to find similar tastes here in the United States. Although many restaurants specialize in Eastern European cuisine, I wanted to find a Ukrainian establishment specifically.

In my food truck, I used blue and yellow colors – the colors of the Ukrainian flag. I spent a lot of time searching for illustrations of yellow and blue flowers to use as the basis for the design. I also made many changes while selecting the best design. There were several versions of the truck, and I settled on this one.

These colors not only reflect the symbolism of my country but also create an atmosphere of coziness and warmth. I wanted everyone who visited my food truck to feel like a Ukrainian, even if only for a few minutes.

In my food truck, all the most popular Ukrainian dishes will be sold: borscht, lard, dumplings, with various fillings starting from potatoes and ending with various berry flavors.

I would like more and more people to learn about Ukrainian culture. Unfortunately, many people around the world call Ukrainian national dishes Russian. I also noticed that almost all Eastern European dishes are called Russian cuisine, which greatly offends people from those countries.

I believe that every culture should be respected, and food is precisely one of its main characteristics.

Half of the money will go to charity to support Ukraine. I believe that this way of raising funds for charity is extremely interesting, and I hope that this idea will help not only spread Ukrainian culture among Americans but also help Ukrainian volunteers raise money for the needs of Ukrainian refugees and soldiers.

ASSIGNMENT #4

The Blender project was one of the most interesting and fun projects I worked on at Seattle Central.

A big reason for that was my great team – Liz and Walker. I really enjoyed working with them. We didn’t know each other before this project, but we quickly became friends and started working on our film, “The Prize Poodle.” The horror story about an arrogant poodle cursed by a talking mirror.

We envisioned this story as a mystical horror tale. Liz and Walker acted in it. Liz played the arrogant poodle, while Walker was her hairdresser. They both did an incredible job in their roles!

The hardest part of the project was writing the story. We had a few different versions, but we combined them into one story.

On the day we started filming, I was nervous because I didn’t want to let my team down. Liz and Walker trusted me and believed in my work with the camera, sound, and editing.

We had a small problem with our microphones running out of battery, but we fixed it quickly and didn’t have any other issues. We finished filming fast and then spent a lot of time editing. The hardest part was editing a scene with a talking mirror, which took a long time to get right. I experimented with color correction as well. I wanted our video to have a cold, bluish tone. I also spent a lot of time selecting music for this film. I believe that this helped us create the creepy atmosphere of our video. Overall, it took me two days to edit the video.

In the end, I finished the video, and my team loved it! I’m so thankful to Liz and Walker for their support. I had a great time working with them and would love to do it again!

ASSIGNMENT 3

Ukrainian Defense Support

Being a Ukrainian immigrant in America, I feel a deep concern about the difficult situation in my homeland. Reflecting on my roots, I understand the importance of aiding Ukrainian refugees and soldiers who are currently going through tough times. With a total sum of $25,000, I would wholeheartedly donate it to support the Ukrainian Defense Support, an organization that assists Ukrainian refugees in the USA and soldiers on the front lines. This nonprofit organization, based in Seattle, is notable for its work in favor of Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression.

Considering the situation, I believe these funds can also be used for organizing several charitable events aimed at supporting the Ukrainian community and endorsing important initiatives.

There’s also the possibility of creating educational programs or informational campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the situation in Ukraine and ways to help. Furthermore, supporting Ukrainian artists, writers, and intellectuals could enhance their visibility and promote cultural exchange between Ukraine and the USA. All these measures could contribute to increasing support for Ukraine and help provide necessary aid to those in need.

Ukrainian people are dying. Ukrainian people are losing their families and homes. A lot of them are forced to leave their homes. Having experienced firsthand the initial months of war, I know how terrifying it can be. I also know firsthand how challenging it is to be an immigrant in a new country, so I am extremely eager to help this organization continue to provide assistance to people who have undergone similar experiences.

Additionally, I would like to emphasize the importance of fostering a sense of unity and solidarity among Ukrainian immigrants in the USA. By coming together and supporting each other, we can navigate the challenges of being immigrants in a new country while also contributing to the support of our homeland.

ASSIGNMENT #1 DESIGN SYSTEMS

Mailchimp.com

The main colors of the website are pleasant pastel colors such as beige, light pink, white, and yellow. Yellow is one of the main colors of the site which, in my opinion, evokes positive emotions in site visitors. The yellow color carries joy, sunshine, and positivity.

The website design is quite minimalist and understandable for new users.

At the top left, there are four sections: solutions and services, resources, switch to Mailchimp, and pricing.

3 things I learned about Mailchimp:

1. The company helps businesses structure their email marketing campaigns to improve sales.

2. The company was founded by Ben Chestnut, Dan Kurzius, and Mark Armstrong in 2001 in Atlanta.

3. The company offers 4 pricing plans for users: premium ($350/month), standard ($20/month), Essentials ($13/month), Free ($0/month).

Uber.com

The color palette of the website is quite simple: black and white. The design is restrained and minimalist. On the main page of the website, there is a map of your area and a very convenient menu through which the user can view trip prices.

3 things I learned about Uber:

1. The company was founded in 2009 by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp.

2. Over the years of the company’s existence, it has been involved in many scandals due to suspicious drivers and poor customer treatment.

3. Uber Eats was founded in 2014. Since then, the company has been involved in not only the taxi service but also food delivery.

GitLab.com

The company is involved in creating software and tracking issues in its operation, writing code, and managing various programs and projects.

The color palette of the website includes many bright colors. The main color of the website is purple. The site is well-structured and understandable for new users. Standard minimalist fonts fit well into the platform’s design.

3 things I learned about GitLab:

1. The company was founded by Ukrainian Dmytro Zaporozhets, which makes it the first partially Ukrainian company unicorn, which in the business world means a company worth more than a billion dollars.

2. The company operates worldwide and provides services regardless of time zones.

3.GitLab boasts approximately 30 million registered users, with 1 million of them actively using licensed features.

BLOG ASSIGNMENT “Creative Process”

I’d like to share the process of creating one of my favorite shots for a lighting techniques final project.

For this final project, I needed to capture the human body’s form. I wanted to show the unique beauty and power of women’s body. I came up with the idea of a photoshoot with Yuliia Brychkovska and was thrilled when she agreed to this experiment.

Here’s the video of my creative process of this shoot: https://youtu.be/1nWCTgvnn3s?si=4KTT92s-thMOZbhC

The key elements of the shoot were a black dress and corset, a short black wig covering half of Yuliia’s face to focus more on her body than her face, because that was a requirement for this assignment, I wasn’t allowed to do portraits.

I also used long red nails to add more detail to the look.

I’m really pleased with my final result and am very grateful to Yuliia for such a wonderful experience. I received a lot of positive feedback and consider it one of my most successful shoots!
