Since I had a class on Narrative Filmmaking, until now, it seems like I have a little experience on photo/video industry. For me, it is the first trial to go to that place.
I am glad to have class on it. Because I was thinking about being a Youtuber as a side job. But I do not have any idea about how to start and what the video begins with. Therefore, I think this class is helpful.
In these 5 weeks we learned the basics of camera, storyboarding, sound and editing by watching the classic part of the famous movies. We used phone cameras and Premiere Pro to create short films. It is not a technique job for the beginner. But for me, it is hard to make the favorite cutting. It is time-consuming. Firstly, we were taught to storyboard first and then film it, but, for me, I am not professional in storytelling. I always came up a few ideas when I was filming and even editing. Everything messed up at the end, so I spend a lot of time in editing. The second thing is it is hard to make the perfect and correct sound for the video. I need to search in the sound file which has more than 2,000 sound effect and listen to it nearly one by one. And then add to video in the Premiere Pro. In total, it is a nice beginning. But I am not in favor of the process of making the film.

It seems like a quite interesting way of expression. Compared to graphic design which emphasizes on idea and using different form of expression, visual media focus on image and the technique to express. Student graduated from this program will become fine artist, photographer, photojournalist, video & film producer.
For me, I do not consider this career for this moment. But it is nice to think about it in advanced.
