Although I didn’t get a chance to try anything related augmented reality before, I can see how powerful it is with the fact that augmented reality has become one of the hottest tech trends today. Like AR, wearable smart glasses have been on the rise in recent years. Smart glasses work by overlap the digital world with reality. The main mission of it is to make your life easier, some aimed at entertainment purpose.
There are many smart glasses out there with a variety of prices and models. After reviewing the current market, I think these are the best AR glasses in terms of powerful functionality yet affordable price:
1.Spectacles 2
Spectacles 2 made by Snapchat. These glasses are great for catching the world quickly with high quality and having them stored digitally. Another functionality make Spectacles 2 stand out in from the competitive world is “Water Resistant.” You can wear these glasses even under water or in snow day to take photo or video, capture all the moments that you want from your perspective without worrying. Some people worried because of the weight of the glasses, but it’s not bad at all; you can wear them all day, just treat them like normal glasses. An accessible price for a wonderful item only 199.99$ on Amazon then you can get a nice experiment with AR. There are several format options like vertical, widescreen, circular. The only con of these glasses is that you can only shoots 30 seconds of video. Overall, these are a great smart glasses with a reasonable price.
2. Echo Frames (2nd Gen)
Echo Frames made by Amazon. There glasses make your life so much easier than ever. You can use these to make call, listen to podcast, get the new, control your smart home, etc. Microphones only response to sound of your voice. The only con of these glasses is battery life. You can only use it for 4 hours continuous in one time charge.
As you can see AR make our life a lot easier than ever. However, there are hard to find an AR device with an affordable price in current market. Maybe that’s the reason AR still not really reach to a wide audience. I’m sure AR industry will never stop evolving. As a person who learn a new language, I know how difficult it is. Hopefully in the future AR will have more language support features for tourists, increasing global communication.
