What Sparks Your Imagination?
Before starting this I would like to say that I actually had to look up the difference between creativity vs imagination. I don’t know why but I feel like they kind of go hand in hand so I wanted to make sure I was answering this correctly. Something that sparked my imagination this week was from the last project for Photoshop class. It has nothing to do with Photoshop but ill get into why it sparked my imagination in a second. The project is creating a pop-up book. At first, I was thinking to myself, this is the last thing I needed to finish off this year (rolling eye emoji) “This is harder than Jason said it was”. So at first, I was unmotivated because I was I wasn’t going to do anything with it after and thought it was a waste of materials. Then I thought I could give the book away to someone. Then I thought of my friend’s niece. I have made a children’s book before so this was perfect. She is also almost 14 months old so a pop-up book would be perfect. It’s interactive and will have a nonbreakable mirror in it too which I’m so excited about. So that sparked my imagination and since I am not a mom or an aunt yet I imagined what types of books to read to my child or niece/nephew one day and I thought of a theme about reminding them that they are loved and how love is what can help them through tough times. With the help of Chat GPT, I created a story about just that and now I am so inspired, excited, and motivated to finish this as soon as possible. I don’t give gifts that often but when it comes to something personalized like this it makes me feel so happy and fulfilled and gives me a purpose.
Mood-board for Petcube
When I first looked at the product I did see much color so I looked at staged product photos and was inspired by the image with the donut shaped vase. I picked the colors from that image and decide the moldboard would resemble that theme. Its clean and modern like the product. The colors are also very calming and neutral so anyone should be drawn to it.
I added also wanted to add many images of dogs and owners because that is the target audience. The images also are in the similar color pallet/vibe to make sure it all goes together.
The last thing I added was some very quick and not greatly made illustrations of piles of dog treats. If I was more invested I would’ve done a better job and or phone and image and photoshopped the background out so it could just overlay on the images like it is now. But you get the idea.

- Exposure: Working for an agency can provide exposure to different industries and types of work, which can be useful for career development and building a diverse set of skills.

Full-Time Work: Pros:

- Limited professional development: Part-time work may not provide the same opportunities for training and development as full-time work, which can be a disadvantage for people who want to grow professionally.
Photography
Today we had a photographer named Cameron. he mainly just showed his photography and how much he wants to work less and make more money. He also talked about clients, his family and how he is an alumni at SCC.
My images are not great quality here unfortunately so I apologize.
Coachella Firebirds Jersey
I went to Coachella’s website and was inspired by the light blue and orange from their site and luckily those are part of the teams colors including navy and another shade of orange.
So I wanted the majority to be light blue to represent the blue sunny sky and bring some brightness to the jerseys with pops of navy to highlight the light blue. In addition, I had the logos of the Firebirds and Coachella be the star of the show so it would pop with the complimentary blues.
The last detail I added was some small palm trees to the bottom of the jersey that goes around to represent the palm trees in California and make it more fun and festive! I think it looks pretty good if I do say so myself 🙂
Christy Anna Wu
Last Friday we had a woman named Christy Anna Wu who is a film director, musician, and painter, along with many other things. Throughout her presentation, she asked these 5 questions and now I will be answering them myself.
Who are you?
I am a 19-year-old Irish-born French girl who currently is going to college to become a graphic designer.
What is it that you want to do?
I would like to become a graphic designer and travel the world and spend time with the people closest to me.
Why?
Becoming a graphic designer is pretty broad and the allows me to have a variety of career options. I would love a job that allows me to do all of that I mentioned in the previous question.
Where do you want to go?
Almost Anywhere. For travel or for living. Really depends on a lot of things that I don’t want to get into right now.
What would you want to say?
I’m so excited for this quarter to be over!
CUT Game Idea for Design Students
My game idea is to have a bunch of design students design something. Could be anything. Then have a line situation with the students and have one person guess who made what just by looking at the lineup of people. There would be multiple guessers as well just to make things more interesting and CUT also does the same thing.
I know we aren’t allowed to suggest any games involving drinking but it would be so fun to have the students be drunk and have a design challenge which I can think off the top of my head but could be short timed challenges.
Or the last thing that I thought of would be to have a game involving taking shots if they do something like deleting anything or if they try and use a certain tool.
Taco Bell Meta verse Wedding
What parts worked well, and what parts didn’t?
I mean the couple is married and seemed happy which in my eyes was a success.
Is this something you could see yourself having an interest in moving forward?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. I don’t want to judge people who choose to do that but I think this is stupid. I think the meta verse is stupid and is not worth the time and money or any investments. This is just a way to take people’s money. We could spend all that time on money on more serious things in this world. Anyway, this is my opinion but you do you. Go get married wherever. Just not meant for me.
Is this something that has potential as an advertising tool? Why, Why not? Could this work as an entertainment tool? Why, Why not?
I think this is already being advertised/as an internment tool in addition to a way to invest because you can buy property and merchandise in addition to some more things that I don’t know about.
A Time I Failed
Gosh I have nothing yet so many things I could think of. I don’t have specific situation where I actively failed completely, at least not that I can think of on the spot.
One of the things that come to mind is I’ve gotten a few bad grades here and there over my “school career” I guess you could say. Also the PSAT test. I fail so badly I don’t tell anyone my score it was that bad. Luckily it was only the PSAT but damn id you wanna feel stupid go ahead and take that test. Makes you feel so good. (sarcasm intended)
The second thing I “failed” is one or 2 of my high school exhibitions. I think I mainly was just hard on myself because I know I had done way better and not only I but everyone else knew that. No one told me that though.
To add a little more detail on how I “failed” a couple of my exhibitions that my trimester before covid hit I had done the best exhibition I had ever done. Spoke well during the whole thing. My timing was good. My visuals/evidence were good. Just a very good prevention overall. and ever since covid I just haven’t been able to do the same. At the time and even now I have trouble speaking (many because I’ll forget to breathe properly or my brain goes blank) Also my exhibitions after that one I didn’t have as good “visual” presentations. Just things like that but oh well. I can’t change the past.
Overall, most of the time I’m the one who lets my own expectations down and for now I haven’t really “failed” anything, at least right now. I hope I don’t jinx myself haha. Knock on wood 🙂
