For Petcube’s new ad campaign, I decided to take inspiration from a lot of the tongue and cheek, surrealist ads of the early 2000s. The campaign would feature a cute flesh and blood dog, a somewhat hapless robotic dog who loves to eat batteries, and a clueless but nice absentee owner who must always leave to go to work. The two dogs would be pitted against each other in humorous ways as they struggle for treats. The robotic dog should feel somewhat soulless and unsympathetic. The real dog will always win out with the aid of the petcube. The film style will be that of of the early 2000s teenage oriented ads, but updated with the decor of a contemporary millennial. The pallet will be the somewhat washed out, blueish hue of ads of the early 2000s…think PS2 ads or the live above the influence campaign
