For my Firebird’s redesign I decided to take inspiration from one of this year’s featured artists at Coachella, Kumkum Fernando. I attempted to emulate his sculpture’s simplistic forms and repeating geometric patterns in my reimagined firebird, while retaining the same color pallet as the original logo. The result is an eye catching, visually interesting design that promotes the art of Coachella, something that is not as heavily advertised as its music. My hope is to expand the market of Coachella to people interested in visual arts, as well as music, since the brand awareness of Coachella music has already reached saturation.
