My first venture into actual film making and not home movies occurred during my senior year of high school. Do to the nature of my high school I was able to create an independent class and get myself credit for making a movie.
I gathered all my friends. Studied my camera (not enough), figured out sound, wrote a script, story boarded, etc.
At the end of the year I released She’s a Rainbow, a coming of age movie about a high school girl trying to find herself after a breakup.
Sadly… re-watching it now is almost impossible. Do to the fact that I used a lot of licensed music, distributing this movie is not in my best interest. I also have a hard time watching it because of how much progress I made. Audio is iffy in the movie, shots are out of focus, time constraints made me cut many scenes, and I did not have that much time to edit. Despite all this I’m proud of what I created. It really shaped who I am now.
