Black Block Problem

I overall had a lot of fun with this assignment; it was nice to force myself to go with my first instinct-a lot of the ideas I sketched out we’re just the first things that came to mind, and as much as I questioned it in the moment, seeing it all together, made me more confident in my mindset of how I defined these things within these parameters.

AI- Rave at the Dentist

  1. I imagine the setting being within the operating room of the dentist, while the patient is in the chair leaned back as the dentist and assistants operate and are shown dancing, while blue and pink lights are filling the room. And there’s a disco ball of course
    1. Either that of its within the waiting room and everyone is dancing with their paper work in their hands, but the front office workers look annoyed. They also have party hats on. There is also a disco ball 🙂
  2. this is what I am hopeful the outcome will be

but this is what I got…

A little bit disappointed that the AI had such a fixed perspective- I was hoping for something a bit wider so you could fit more in the scene, especially with how much I was asking for; maybe next time I’ll try specifying the kind of shot that I want it to capture. I was also bummed there was no patient- but that could also be fixed with some specification.

As for Adobe AI- definitely not the biggest fan :/

It felt very mediocre for something apart of the very expensive Adobe pool. The first image didn’t even really correspond with the prompt, it was just dentist smiling- which in my opinion, isn’t really a rave

Creative Process- BTS

This was some behind the scene footage of me modeling for my classmate dean in his music video; I’ve never done this kind of modeling before and I felt very awkward- my feet were also killing me omg I’m never wear stilettos again- but when Dean would show me the shots he was getting I slowly started gaining more confidence

All in all it was a really great experience, but that’s always to be expected when shooting with Dean

Creating a Little World

For me personally, it’s hard to see an object as something that can be stylized and set in a space to look like it was worth taking a picture of. Product photography- as much as I admire it- is a style I have yet to fully understand, and I do think that shows in the photo.

I decided to shoot an old fragrance mist owned for a while; I wanted to create a very soft scene that replicated the feelings I got from smelling the fragrance- delicate, dreamy, and encasing. Then it was a matter of what I was actually able to do with my level of abilities I knew I had a satin scarf that was similar to the color of the bottle, so looking up inspirations of products placed on ruffled satin, I utilized the soft light we have in the studio. As far as overall composition, I saw some complex ones online where it was less head on and more intricate, however, I was limited by a prime 50mm lens (which is apparent through the distortion), and just my overall understanding of product photography in general is not that grand.
