Aero Project

Idea

When brainstorming ideas for my project with Adobe Aero, I imagined creating a magic portal using just my laptop screen. I’ve always loved fantastical concepts of gateways leading to other realms.

Plot

You tap on a laptop to activate a portal. Out of this vivid vortex, I wanted an animated woman to emerge, wave hello, then vanish back inside.

Issues

I created an animated woman called Amelie. She was supposed to walk from one point to another (from pyramid to pyramid in my case). On computer preview, Amelie went ahead and came back. But not in mobile app.

So I decided to use image anchor instead horizontal surface. However a lot of my tries were not successful. In the end I removed back to horizontal surface, read the instruction more careful and Amelie chose the right direction.

Keep Up With Technology

One day my day will come true and I develop photos the old fashioned way at home.

While the obvious choice would be selecting some flashy new camera accessory or photo app, I wanted to go the analog route – tapping into the roots of the photographic process by using a complete home darkroom kit.

So for my exploration, I chose the ILFORD & PATERSON DARKROOM STARTER KIT, which comes with all the essential gear like a developing tank, timer, safelights, graduated cylinders, and helpful guide booklet.

“This kit is a convenient and affordable way to start making beautiful prints from your negatives and brings together a selection of essential darkroom equipment and materials.”

One big think to remember – I need a film camera too;)

Some interesting ideas I’ll explore later:

Pixelstick:

Create magical scenes with just the wave of your hand! The Pixelstick is an ultra-intelligent tool that allows you to paint with colored light for incredibly vibrant light painting shots. But that’s not all – you can also load any image, design, animation, pattern or graphic that you desire, so that you can impose it on film, digital and instant photos!

Epson FastFoto FF-680W – High-speed photo and document scanner. It can scan stacks of prints and convert them to digital quickly. Great for digitizing old physical photos.

Reality Composer – UI/UX Review

Reality Composer on the App Store

Reality Composer created by Apple is a easy and powerful tool to create Augmented Reality. It was released for iOS on September 19, 2019.

Reality Composer for iOS and iPadOS makes it easy to build, test, tune, and simulate AR experiences for iPhone or iPad.

What they did well. User Interface

  • Simplicity and accessibility
  • It’s intuitive, with user-friendly layout
  • No coding experience

What they did well. User Experience

  • Accessible to a broad audience
  • Drag-and-Drop
  • Instant Preview
  • Templates and Starter Projects

UI/UX items can be improved

  • No desktop app (iPhone/ iPad only)
  • Implement a tutorial
  • Interactions, such as dragging and dropping objects, rotating, and resizing, are smooth and responsive
  • Update the built-in library

AR Poster

Game On: Stress Off.

I used EyeJack Creator 2022 app to create my poster for this project.

The Idea.

I explored various subjects, focusing on education, meditation or stress relief. While exploring different ideas, I’ve watched like a million of gifs. That is how the old arcade Mario concept emerged. The dynamic and engaging nature of the well-known gameplay + fun idea implemented by internet user ritesh001, resonated with my vision, leading me to integrate the iconic character into my project.

Issues

I enjoyed the app. It is user-friendly and intuitive.
However, I encountered a sound issue during my first try with a different image and idea. The sound should be the same duration as your gif. So it was tricky to do a longer gif to save some meaning of a song I’ve chosen.

Pam, pam, pam.

A Poster for Madeon

Madeon is a French DJ and music producer based in LA. His concert was a part of Capitol Hill Block Party — an annual 3-day festival celebrating music. My assignment was to create a poster for his performance.

To prepare I researched existing visual media: album covers, social media, Madeon’s and Capitol Hill Block Party’s official websites.

For Madeon I noticed one common element – diffused bright light colored with calm pastel pallete. As for the Festival I found bright well-recognizable symbols: logo, quirky doodles and solid colors.

While doing my research I stumbled upon Madeon’s photos and I decided to use it as a base for my poster. That was a lucky find!

My moodboard

In my solution I combined all those elements. The based photo provided the light and mood, I tried to match it with the title blending with the light. I put Festival information into the footer and topped it with cool fish borrowed from the Festival website.
