Blog 6, my photographer journey

In the vast world of photography, where tradition meets new ideas, my first year behind the lens has been a rollercoaster of excitement, marked by a determination to shake things up. Armed with a camera and a hunger for exploration, I found myself embracing disruption, pushing the boundaries of what people typically expect from a newbie photographer.

Starting out, I focused on learning the basics, understanding the nuts and bolts of the craft. But the real turning point came when I decided to ditch the usual and dive into experimental photography. Disruption became my game plan, urging me to see beyond the obvious and capture moments in unique ways.

One of my early experiments involved taking everyday scenes and looking at them from different angles. I went for the ordinary, finding beauty in things most people overlook. By playing around with perspectives, I injected new life into the usual, making people reconsider what they thought they knew.

Tech also played a big role in my disruptive journey. I got my hands on the latest camera gear and explored new editing tricks, using technology to give my work a fresh, modern twist. From cool drone shots to dabbling in augmented reality, I aimed to bring a contemporary vibe to my photos.

Collaboration was another key part of my disruptor toolkit. I teamed up with artists from all kinds of backgrounds, breaking free from the idea that photography has to be a solo gig. Working with others brought in new ideas, different perspectives, and cool techniques, making my art way more interesting.

Of course, not everyone was on board with the whole disruption thing. Some folks questioned why I wasn’t sticking to the usual way of doing things, while others turned up their noses at the techy stuff. But I stuck to my guns, believing that shaking things up is how art moves forward.

As my first year wrapped up, I took a step back to think about the wild ride. From newbie nerves to becoming a disruptor, my journey echoed the idea that real progress comes when you challenge what’s considered normal. Disruption wasn’t just a trick in my bag; it became a way of thinking, turning my work into proof that creativity and courage can change the game.

In this ever-changing world of photography, being a first-year disruptor isn’t just about learning the ropes. It’s about being a visionary, pushing the limits of what’s expected, and proving that even a beginner with a camera can shake things up in the most awesome ways. The adventure continues, driven by a love for pushing boundaries, a belief in the power of change, and an unstoppable passion for capturing the world through a lens that challenges, provokes, and inspires.
