Background: This is a short 3D animation with a green screen element in it. My challenge was integrating both elements together in an animation.

Actions: My actions were first importing the video I took into resolve and keying out the green from the element, Then I created a back ground using connected scan lines. I exported it then in a new timeline added more glitch elements to the video. Then I exported the video once more and put it into blender. I modeled a fast 3D TV and put the video inside it. I added a few emission textures and then I created a glowing background. I then parented the TV and video to a point light and used that to move the TV around the scene. This allowed light to be casted in a semi realistic manner on the ground. I then rendered the animation in Eevee so I wouldn’t have to wait 12.3 years for the scene to render. After that the final step was to import the video back into resolve and add grain and do audio mixing.

My inspiration for this project was the 80s. I wanted to recreate the same old time vibe that the 80s give off, a mix of nostalgia and outdated tech, A lot of grain and glow to get that feeling. With this I added a bit of 90s inspiration with an old computer feel. Glitchy lines go all over the screen and the sounds are all from dial up PCs. There is also a bit of analog damage all over the footage to make it seem much more like it came from a TV.

Results: The results of creating this were not notable, it was a personal project. I took me around 2 1/2 hours in total to complete the project.
