Sunsets are one of the most fascinating parts about existing in planet Earth. There is splendor in ending a day with the sky changing colors. To me sunsets represent that there is always beauty at the end of something. As humans we undergo changes every single day. Yet we remain resilient and endure these changes and endings. To me the camel in this poster represents the remarkable ability to stay persistent and navigate any hardships. I decided it would be an enticing concept to make an animation of the sun setting with a camel sitting still and letting it be and finding the silver lining in it all. In this case it is the mesmerizing colors slowly fading away.
To make this a reality I put my very limited knowledge in animating to use. I used Procreate to create the art and GIF. I did a frame by frame animation. There is a total of 33 frames in this GIF. What I did to create the illusion of a setting sun was to tweak the Saturation and Brightness in each frame. I made very small changes to each frame in order to maintain a seamless gradient. A challenge I was presented with was the flow of the sunset in the final product. Eye Jack recommends you to upload your animation at 25 frames per second for best results. The flow of the gradient isn’t completely what I envisioned but the concept still makes sense.
