Blog Assignment #6

“Postive Distractions”

Five Ideas: Ceiling TV hanging from the top in front of the elevator, Having a silly mannequin in front of the windows by the elevator, video intro for the entrance in front of the hallway, art work on the side of the walls, gaming conventions on the side of the elevators.

Favorite Idea: Ceiling TV hanging from the top in front of the elevator.

Ceiling TV Description:

When it comes to this idea, what I was thinking was that the tv could hang in front of the entrance of the top elevator in the open hallway area where the sink fountain is located, and top of that.

There could also be some interesting slide shows about people’s work, and some introductions to the creative academy too. Another reason, I feel like this is a good idea, because this could be more and more beneficial for new students that are coming into this program, if this ceiling TV is in the front of the elevator playing people’s work and introductions, it could give some insight into how the programs work in the creative academy and it might give them some inspiration to join.

One other thing I wanted to add is another example for this TV. There could also be some interesting music for people to come out of the elevator on the fifth floor, with music coming from the TV, it could give some general relaxation for students that are overwhelmed or anxious. Plus, new students that are entering the creative academy as well, it could be a good plan too.

Blog Assignment #5

A podcast that I’ve been listening to for a while, is called the “off the pill” by Ryan Higa, a youtuber with 20+ million subs. It’s a chill series of different people talking, talking life topics.

The series, overall really gave me a lot of comfort by helping me realize that whatever there is in life, if you can put your mind to it, you can do it. It takes confidence, and that is what the podcast series really gives me.

I recommend people give the podcast series a watch.

Blog Assignment #3

What is the idea and what is your audience?

My idea is about creating a website of my own not just for films, but for a community of people to connect and practically get to know each other, as well as gathering a bunch of audiences that are between the ages of 21-70 because I feel like that age range is like perfect for a audience to chat and perfectly get to know each other pretty well. As well, as building a good decent following on my LinkedIn profile.

Because sometimes, with LinkedIn it’s pretty good to build a social networking and find people, that are in your same creative field. Me, for an example. I’m wanting to dive in film directing and playwriting, I feel that LinkedIn is perfect for finding people and finding job positions that have film directing and playwriting.

That’s basically another example of my audience.

Why do you feel it would be a good exercise for personal growth and/or addition to your portfolio?

Because, it allows me to be able to expand and entertain a bunch of people to not only get to know my work, but also get to know me as a person. So in a way, it can let me get decent exposure for people to see what I have to offer, for instance my website.

Since I have it in my works, I feel like it could be really beneficial for a good exercise in regards to growth, not only would people be able to see my work, but if they share it with other people to see, it would help so much.

What skills would you hope to gain?

Business Marketing:

Website Development

Film Directing

A Visual Proof of Concept piece, mood board, sketch, poster, etc.

A copy of your brainstorm light:

Film director, Filmmaker, Actor, Improv actor, animator, play-writer, script writer,

Cut

So I had an idea for a cut video where we could possibly do a little conversation practices. Where anyone who has trouble starting up conversations with people will practice with one other person to build up conversation skills.

I feel like it might be a good cut video.

Exploring The Metaverse

When I attended the Taco Bell Metaverse event, I thought it was an interesting experience. Because for one, everything is so cool. It’s almost like your in a different world. One thing to add, is that with the Metaverse it’s also pretty interesting when you meet people there. It feels like a good place to make friends and hangout. But other that, it was very fun, and I enjoyed it.

Experience Factor: (Creating and Foster Trust with the client)

Back in 2019, I was with working with a three online friends of mine and we four including me, ran a YouTube channel all together. And we’d always record video productions and then send them to one of them that was the owner of the channel to edit them and post them.

But one time, the owner of the Channel that was my online friend, told me to create a thumbnail for a video that we made. So I said yeah, but then as time went on, I didn’t do the thumbnail that he asked me to, so he said “hey, how is the thumbnail going?” I told them, that I was working on it and it was almost done. But when I finally gave it to him, he didn’t like it, so he ended up doing the thumbnail himself.

To this day, I still think about it. And the important part from this that I want to remember if I end up working for a company is that you should always update your client or boss about what’s going on and keep in contact so that they know your not slacking off and your actually doing the work.
