For the 2nd blog assignment we were asked to scan an object in the app Polycam and use the augmented reality feature to place the object in an environment and make a short story involving that object. I chose to scan a cup of my favorite ramen and make it much larger than in reality. Then in my video, I was hungry while walking up the stairs but then miraculously a giant cup of Shin ramen appeared at the top of the steps making me extremely surprised and happy.

Momma Poster
Solution and Explanation
While listening to Momma’s latest album “Household name,” I got a late 90s to early 2000’s nostalgic feeling and more specifically I wrote down words such as folk, nature, roadtrips, and 90’s-2000’s. So I decided to pinpoint that feeling with images I would add to a mood board. When searching for inspiration I came upon an image that perfectly captured the feeling I was looking for. This image consisted of a hilly two lane road going through a rural neighborhood at sunset. So, I used this image to pull all the colors used in this poster from. I love developing color palettes through images. Anyways, I decided to frame the main graphic like a polaroid photo to strengthen the aesthetic and focus the art work. I used the font PP Editorial New for the “MOMMA” and Ariel for the “household name” and the Capitol Hill Block Party information. I used PP Editorial New to bring in some folk energy to the poster that Momma’s music also brings. Then, I used Ariel as a complementary font to bring a bit of youth and modernity to the poster that ties in with the band members’ youth and modernity as well.
Here is a link to Medicine by Momma on their latest album Household Name so you can see if you caught the same vibe as I did while listening. https://youtu.be/oR6Amby8t-o?si=lDMeBbQirVxsv0oS
